ESET Webinar: The Art of Cyberwar
Background
In November 2022 I was approached by Riva Media who represents me for speaking engagements to ask if I would be interested in taking part in a webinar for ESET’s “The Art of Cyberwar” series.
The engagement sounded very interesting, so Riva Media set up an introductory call with Steven Connolly, Head of Channel Marketing at ESET so I could understand a bit more about “The Art of Cyberwar” and find out more about the potential speaking engagement.
During the introductory call Steven talked to me about “The Art of Cyberwar”, what their aims are for the webinar series and what their requirements are for their participants and speakers.
We also discussed a variety of different topics and themes that I could potentially talk about, and decided on a discussion around how greater collaboration within the cyber security industry can potentially help to combat the growing cyber threat through the sharing of knowledge – securely and safely of course!
Webinar Preparation
Once we agreed on a date and time for the webinar to take place, I undertook some research into ESET and the topic we agreed I would talk about.
I developed a slide deck and created a briefing document which listed everything I needed to know about the webinar, ESET and Jake Moore who is the host of “The Art of Cyberwar”, someone I already knew from the cyber security community and who I met in person at DTX in October 2022.
A technical test / run through was also booked ahead of the webinar taking place to ensure that my video, sound and technology worked with the GoToWebinar platform used by ESET.
The Webinar Itself
The webinar was booked for Thursday 19 January 2023 at 2.00pm via the GoToWebinar platform. I was pleased it went smoothly with no technical glitches or problems, something that is always a worry when undertaking a speaking engagement online!
I enjoyed talking about how governments, law enforcement agencies, the police and the wider cyber security community should work closely together and share best practice and insights to help combat the growing cyber threat – this was something that resonated well with the webinar’s audience who were very engaged with the content and asked some questions when my talk was over about fostering greater collaboration in the industry.
Post-Webinar Feedback
“Lisa was a very engaging webinar participant who did a fantastic job covering a topic that resonated well with ESET’s audience. She was an asset to “The Art of Cyberwar” video series and our client ESET was very happy with her participation and delighted with the webinar.”
