I am an award-winning cyber security specialist, author and keynote speaker with a career spanning more than two decades. My professional life began in the entertainment industry, where I worked alongside Chris Tarrant on the global hit show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”. In 2009 I moved into cyber security, joining Titania Ltd as Chief Operations Officer. Since then I have worked with organisations including BT, BlueVoyant and the UK Cyber Security Council, and my focus has settled firmly on the human side of security: awareness, behaviour and lasting culture change.
Alongside my client work I have founded several organisations. Cyber Security Unity, formerly the UK Cyber Security Association, is a global community created to bring the cyber security industry together in the face of growing threats. Unity Group Solutions Limited, where I am Chief Executive and Founder, is the consultancy through which I deliver security awareness, culture and thought leadership programmes for global organisations. I am also Founder and CEO of the AI and Cyber Security Association (AICSA), the world’s first global trade association dedicated to the convergence of AI and cyber security. Neuro Unity, which I founded and lead, advocates for neuroinclusion in cyber security and in the wider workplace, drawing on my own experience of being diagnosed as autistic and ADHD at 48. Cyber Kindness, my most recent founding project, promotes kinder and more compassionate cultures across the industry.
My expertise lies in security awareness, security culture and the human aspects of cyber threats. My approach is empowerment-led, trauma-informed and neuroinclusive, and it deliberately rejects fear-based messaging and “human firewall” framing. In recognition of my contribution to the field and my advocacy for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, I was awarded an MBE in King Charles III’s 2023 Birthday Honours List.
