I have spent the past week going through www.lisaventura.co.uk from top to bottom, and I have made a set of changes I wanted to share.
The honest position was that my website had fallen behind my work. Pages that described things as upcoming had been sitting there long after those things had happened, my career history stopped in the middle of last year and there was no home at all for the client work that fills most of my week. If you had arrived on the site cold, you would have come away with a fairly incomplete picture of what I actually do.
A New Consultancy Work Page
This is the biggest addition. There is now a single page that sets out my current consultancy engagements and the roles I hold within them, from security awareness and culture change programmes through to strategic communications and social media. It covers the shape of the work rather than just the job titles, including phishing simulation programmes, Security Champions, baseline cultural assessments, threat intelligence briefings and neuroinclusive training design.
A New Page for Cyber Kindness
Cyber Kindness now has its own page on the site, explaining why I founded it and what the campaign is for. Cyber Kindness exists to tackle bullying, harassment and toxic behaviour in cyber security, and to make the case that psychological safety is not solely a matter for HR. An industry where people are afraid to speak up is an industry that hears about its problems late. Kindness is a security control.
The page links through to www.cyberkindness.org.uk, where you can read the Cyber Kindness Pledge and sign up as an individual or an organisation.
Refreshed Project and Organisation Pages
The Neuro Unity page has been rewritten, and the page for the AI and Cyber Security Association (the AICSA) has been brought up to date so that it reflects where the association actually is rather than where it was heading several months ago. My career history has been extended to include Unity Group Solutions and my current engagements, and the About Me section on the homepage has been refreshed.
Navigation and Housekeeping
The My Work and Projects menus had drifted apart over time, so both have been restructured to make more sense to someone visiting for the first time. The mobile menu was the priority, as it was missing most of my work entirely, which mattered a great deal given how many of you arrive here from LinkedIn. A number of smaller items have been dealt with too, including the footer strapline, some stale links and the page titles that appear when a page is shared on social media.
