I am thrilled to announce that my new book, Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity: Use AI to Protect Your Organization, is now published by Kogan Page and available to buy from koganpage.com, Amazon and all leading bookshops and online retailers.
This book has been a labour of love and represents lots of work I’ve done at the intersection of AI and cyber security. It also spawned the idea for the AI and Cyber Security Association. I wrote it because I saw a real need for a practical, accessible guide that speaks directly to security leaders navigating one of the most rapidly evolving areas in our industry. AI is no longer a nice to have in cyber security. It is an operational necessity. But harnessing its power effectively requires a strategic, informed approach, and that is exactly what this book sets out to provide.
Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity is structured in two comprehensive sections. The first explores the rise of AI in cybersecurity, covering the fundamentals of machine learning and deep learning, AI applications in intrusion detection systems, behavioural analysis and anomaly detection, natural language processing for threat intelligence, AI-driven malware detection, predictive analytics, autonomous response systems, AI-powered security operations centres (SOCs), and the ethical and regulatory considerations shaping the field. The second section is focused on practical implementation, guiding readers through proactive threat detection, network and cloud security, identity and access management, security orchestration and automation, workforce upskilling, and the critical task of evaluating the return on investment of AI-based defence strategies.
The book also addresses the darker side of AI and how adversaries are exploiting it to develop new and more sophisticated cyberattacks. Understanding the threat is the first step to defeating it, and I wanted to ensure readers are equipped to confront both sides of this evolving landscape.
I am incredibly proud to be publishing with Kogan Page, one of the world’s leading independent publishers of specialist professional books. Their commitment to high-quality content for professionals aligns perfectly with my own values, and I am grateful to everyone who has supported this journey. Unboxing the book and actually holding it in my hands felt like a dream come true, as from as far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be an author and write books. This is just the start for me of that journey, which is better late than never!

The response from the cyber security community has already been wonderfully encouraging. Industry colleagues have described the book as an absolute gamechanger, essential reading for cyber security professionals, and a valuable and educational resource for anyone affected by the impact of AI on privacy, security and autonomy.
Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity: Use AI to Protect Your Organization is available now in paperback (344 pages, £32.99) and hardback (£56.00). The ISBN is 978-1-3986-2464-1.
